Park Place Boutique & Salon

Our Story

Owners -- Dean and Gail Stevens
Park Place Boutique and Salon originated as a comforting place for a family to regain their strength and to give them a new approach and outlook on life. The name Park Place holds a very special meaning not only to the Stevens family but to many others in Columbus and surrounding areas. Park Place is named for the youngest son of Dean and Gail Stevens, owners. Park accomplished his lifelong dream of becoming an SEC football player in January 2013, when he joined the Ole Miss Football team. God had a different plan for Park and on July 3, 2013 he was killed in an automobile accident. Park left a legacy that goes far beyond his accomplishments on the ball field. He left a legacy of love, friendship, compassion, bear hugs and kisses. He left a legacy that hard work and determination lead to success. He always encouraged people to “reach for the stars”. In addition, he promised to always take care of his family, dreaming that he would one day play in the NFL. Park also left behind heartbroken parents, his brother Terry Dale and his sister Tina Beth. Following the accident the family was faced with the harsh reality that sometimes life is entirely too short. They realized that Park’s approach to life is an example by which they should live. In an effort to find peace and joy through their grief, they reached for the stars and dreams that they had stuck to the side for many years. Park Place Boutique and Salon, Gail’s dream of owning a boutique and Tina Beth’s dream of owning her own salon became a reality with the help of family and friends. The shop is referred to by the family as their happy place. Above the door you will find a bright sign that simply says "SMILE", a tribute to Park who had a smile that could brighten any room. Through his legacy, Park did in fact provide for his family. Jeremiah 29:11 - 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'
